Russell Wilson set a Monday Night football record with 122 rushing yards in the Seattle Seahawks 27-17 win over the Washington Redskins. That is the most rushing yards by a quarterback in Monday Night Football's 45-year history. Wilson found the end zone with his feet just once, scrambling for a 9-yard score in the second quarter.
Wison also threw for 201 yards and 2 TD's, while never turning the ball over. The Seahawks got the scoring started less than 3 minutes in to the game, when Wilson found Jermaine Kearse for a 15-yard score. Steven Hauschka's 40-yard field goal, and Wilson running score got Seattle off to a 17-0 start.
The Redskins would make a game out of it when Kirk Cousins would find DeSean Jackson for a 60-yard scored. Jackson has 11 50+ yard scores since coming in to the NFL in 2008. That is the most in that span. A 27-yard field from Kai Forbath cut the Seahawks' lead to 17-10.
Wilson and "Beast Mode" Marshawn Lynch extended the Seattle lead to 24-10 by connecting for a 9-yard score. The Redskins made cut it to a TD lead again when Cousins found Andre Roberts for a 6-yard touchdown. Cousins finished the day 21/36, for 283 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Hauschka's 2nd field goal for Seattle ended the scoring making it 27-17. The Seahawks improved to 3-1, coming off a bye week after an overtime win against the Broncos. Seattle will host the red-hot Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The Redskins fell to 1-4 with the loss, and will visit a very good, but injured, Arizona Cardinals team on Sunday.
