After yet another incident involving Draymond Green in this year's playoffs, the Golden State Warriors' forward has been suspended for tonight's Game 5. Green was given a flagrant 1 foul during Game 4, following his scuffle with LeBron James in the fourth quarter. He will not be allowed in the building while Golden State looks to clinch their second consecutive title.
Sources are saying that the suspended player must be out of the arena two hours before tipoff. He will be allowed to join the celebration if his team were to win.
The incident took place with under three minutes left in the game, when James and Green tangled up near midcourt. LeBron would throw the Warriors' star to the floor, and then step over the big man. Green responded by swinging an arm that hit James below the belt, which started the scuffle.
This is the third altercation that Green has been involved in this postseason that lead to a flagrant foul. He was given a flagrant 2 during the team's series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, when Green's leg came up and hit Steven Adams in the same location. This after he threw Michael Beasley of the Rockets to the ground in the first round.
James received a technical foul for the incident for taunting Green, who had only missed one game this season. Golden State lost that game, 112-110, to the Denver Nuggets on January 13th.
In the same day, the NBA also announced that they have fined Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue $25K for publicly criticizing officials, when he said that James never gets any calls. Well, he got a big call here, which may help Cleveland keep their season alive in Game 5.
