The Seattle Seahawks announced on Tuesday night that they have agreed to a four-year contract extension with wide receiver Doug Baldwin. The deal will keep Baldwin in Seattle through the 2020 campaign. It will also give the wideout $46 million in total, with $24.25 million guaranteed.
The 27-year-old was entering the final season of his current deal, after joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2011. His best season came in 2015, when he recorded a career-high 78 catches and 1,069 yards, and tied for the league lead with 14 touchdowns. This came in just his second season as a full-time starter.
The team mentioned that they were talking with Baldwin's agent earlier this month, and made the news official by tweeting out a picture of the contract being signed.
The 14-touchdown season came after recording no more than five in his first four years in the league. That one breakout season, along with missing just two games in his five years, is enough to get him paid big time, as he has quickly become another serious target for Russell Wilson to turn to.
