The Houston Rockets added a bit of tenacity and fire to their defense, and they did so by going to a familiar face within the Western Conference. The Rockets gave Thabo Sefolosha a one-year contract a Friday, adding to their star-studded roster that has them thinking about contending with the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers in the West. Sefolosha helped the Utah Jazz battle the Rockets in the first round of the NBA Playoffs this past season, while also doing battle with Houston while with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is also reunited with point guard Russell Westbrook from their time with the Thunder.
Sefolosha is entering his 14th season in the NBA, as he signed a fully guaranteed contract for the veteran's minimum. The veteran worked out for the Rockets at their voluntary minicamp last week in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 35-year-old is known more for his defense, but has averaged 5.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game for his career.
