The Baltimore Ravens announced on Tuesday that they have waived kick returner, Devin Hester. This move comes just a day after Hester muffed a punt deep in Baltimore's zone, leading to a key Patriots' safety in Monday night's loss. Hester struggled this year with a 7.3 yard average, good for 18th in the NFL.
Hester signed a one-year deal with Baltimore prior to the season, as he was suppose to sure up an already shaky Raven return game.
His career numbers would suggest that he was the perfect answer, as he holds the NFL record with 20 return touchdowns. Of the 20 scores, 14 are on punts, with five on kickoffs, one on the return of a missed field goal. His play this season proved that those numbers could just be a thing of the past.
Hester's best numbers came during his time with the Chicago Bears, but he did also spend time with the Atlanta Falcons.
