The Timberwolves returned on Friday night with a loss on their home floor to the Boston Celtics, playing heavily short-handed after this injury and the Trade Deadline. Towns would've been playing in the All-Star Game in Chicago last weekend if it wasn't for his injury, as he has averaged a career-best 26.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. Although, this career-best season continues to be hampered with injuries, as he also missed 15 games earlier this season with a sprained left knee. There is no official timetable for this injury yet, and it may not even be worth it for him to return this season for a team that is in second-to-last place in the Western Conference.
The Detroit Pistons have quickly gone in to rebuilding mode with the trade of Andre Drummond and the buyout of Reggie Jackson. They added to their buyout list on Friday, doing so with veteran Markieff Morris. The 30-year-old played in 44 games in his first and only season with the Pistons, averaging 11 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest. He had originally signed a two-year contract with Detroit last July, and was expected to make $3.2 million next season. Morris is eligible to be claimed by other teams, and has already been eyed by the Los Angeles Lakers.
