Manning's game-winning drive was the 36th of his career, and was highlighted by Saquon Barkley's 23-yard catch, getting his team in position to pull one off on the road. Shepard's touchdown catch came on third down, sending the 49ers to 2-8 on the season.
The Niners started Nick Mullens at quarterback for a second straight game, but the young star could not replicate his impressive debut on Thursday Night Football against the Oakland Raiders. Matt Breida did have a nice game, running for 101 yards and a score, while Robbie Gould's 33-yard field goal gave San Francisco a three-point lead with 2:46 to play.
Mullens finished the night with 250 yards passing and an 11-yard touchdown pass to Breida, but his two interceptions haunted him. The first pick set up Manning's first touchdown connection with Beckham, who had four catches for 73 yards in the win. Mullens' top target was George Kittle, as the tight end finished with nine catches for 83 yards, but did not find the end zone on this night.
The last-place Giants will now return home to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week, while the Niners will enjoy a by week before hosting that same Buccaneers team on November 25th.
