De'Aaron Fox chipped in 22 points for the Kings, who shot 54.5 percent from the floor and never trailed after building a 12-point lead at halftime. They led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, before the Thunder cut their deficit down to five in the fourth. The Kings scored 34 points in the first, second, and fourth quarters to hold off any type of OKC rally on the night.
Shumpert got off to a hot start in his first season with his new team, scoring 16 points in the first quarter alone. Another young star, Marvin Bagley III, finished the night with 13 points and seven rebounds, as the rookie from Duke was coming off a 19-point performance in his previous game against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Thunder will look for their first win of the season when they host the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. The Kings will hit the road on Tuesday night to battle the undefeated Denver Nuggets.
