With numerous free agent signings around the NBA in the first three days since the period began, there was one trade in the mix. The Utah Jazz dealt point guard Trey Burke to the Washington Wizards for a 2021 second-round pick. The trade was announced on Sunday afternoon, but cannot be finalized on July 7th.
Burke was the one that broke the news with an Instagram post about him heading to our nation's capital. He also thanked the Jazz organization, his teammates, and the fans for his time there since being drafted in the first round of the 2013 draft.
The spark plug out of Michigan is scheduled to back up starter John Wall for Washington. He averaged 10.6 points per game in 64 contests this past season. That comes after averaging 12.8 points in each of his first two seasons.
