The Los Angeles Rams look nearly unstoppable even without playmakers on both offense and defense, as they cruised to a perfect 7-0 record on Sunday. Todd Gurley totaled three touchdowns on the day in the Rams' 39-10 blowout of the San Francisco 49ers. Jarred Goff also threw two touchdown passes, one to Gurley, as the Rams recorded their fourth road win of the season. They are 7-0 for the first time in franchise history, this after going 6-0 in three straight seasons from 1999-2001 and losing the seventh game each season.
Los Angeles got two interceptions against quarterback C.J. Beathard, who is in for Jimmy Garoppolo due to the starter being out for the season with a torn ACL. The backup has thrown seven interceptions and lost three fumbles in four starts since taking over. That has led the 49ers to commit 14 straight turnovers since their last takeaway on defense.
The Rams' forced turnovers turned in to 24 points in Sunday's win, helping them overcome compiling a season-low 331 yards of offense. Aaron Donald led the defense with a career-high four sacks in the win, as L.A. also took advantage of Niners losing running back Matt Breida. The tailback left in the second quarter with an ankle injury, as he had a fumble loss of his own before going down.
Goff found Bradin Cooks for a 19-yard score in this one, while Gurley scored from seven and one yard out, as the Rams take their perfect record back home to host Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. The 49ers will take their 1-5 record on the road to visit the Arizona Cardinals.
