Former Packers and Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday morning following 10 seasons in the league. The veteran revealed the decision on the FamiLegue channel on YouTube, where Jenning claimed that he was "excited to be done."
The 32-year-old admitted that he felt as if he physically couldn't do it anymore, which lead to the tough decision. He ended the video by stating "but I'm just getting started."
Jennings ended his career on a quiet note, recording just 19 catches for 208 yards and one touchdown in 2015 with the Miami Dolphins. He spent just one season with Miami after getting released by the Vikings, whom he spent two years with.
The star wideout spend the first seven seasons of his career with the Packers, but signed a five-year deal with Minnesota looking for a "fresh start." That did not work out, as Jennings had just 127 catches for 1,546 yards and 10 touchdowns in his two years with the Vikings.
This after the former Pro Bowler had 425 receptions for 6,537 yards and 53 touchdowns with Green Bay. The Packers selected him 52nd overall in the 2006 NFL Draft, and he went on to make the Pro Bowl twice. Jennings finishes his career with 571 catches for 8,291 yards and 64 touchdowns....and most importantly, with good health.
