The New York Giants continue their efforts to right their handling of the Josh Brown situation. They took a big step in that progress on Tuesday by releasing the kicker. This comes just one week after his admission to abuse of his wife, Molly Brown.
This admission came from released documents from a therapist in 2014. There are reports that state that the NFL and the New York Giants knew of these documents, but kept them to themselves. This until these documents were released to the public stating that Brown admitted to emotional and physical abuse to his wife.
Although, following his release, Brown claimed that he never struck his wife. He went on to say that he will make things right and promised his fans that he wouldn't let them down.
Meanwhile, the Giants were confident in their handling of this situation, as they continue to support their now former kicker. They did suspend Brown for the season opener for a domestic violence arrest in May. Those charges were dropped.
The league also took action against Brown, placing him on the commissioner's exempt list last week. This means that Brown is only allowed to participate in non-football activities, but not practices or games. If he does find a new team to sign with, he will return to this list immediately.
