The frustrations that Odell Beckham Jr. recently expressed in an ESPN interview were on full display in Thursday night's home game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Eli Manning struggled, while Carson Wentz threw for three touchdowns in the Eagles' 34-13 victory over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Wentz finished with 278 yards through the air and did not turn the ball over, as the Eagles took back the top spot in the NFC East by getting back to .500 at 3-3. It was the defending Super Bowl Champions' first road win in their third such contest, as they used a big first half to jump ahead and never looked back.
Wentz found Alshon Jeffery twice and Zach Erts once for scores, as he set a season-high for touchdown passes. He completed 26-of-36 passes, helping the Eagles jump a half game ahead of the Dallas Cowboys. They led by as many as 25 points and beat the Giants for a fourth straight time, and seventh time in the past eight matchups.
Cory Clement also found the end zone on the ground for the Eagles, while kicker Jake Elliott had field goals of 33 and 30 yards on the night. Their defense gave Manning no room on this night, sacking him four times and intercepting him once. The veteran quarterback was hit 13 times overall, as he completed just 24 of 43 passes for 281 yards. His lone interception found the hands of Kamu Grugier-Hill, which led to the second touchdown reception for Jeffery.
The one bright side for the Giants was once again rookie running back Saquon Barkley, who ran for 130 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown run. Aldrick Rosas had field goals of 33 and 21 yards in the fifth loss of the year for the Giants, who are winless in three home games this season.
The Eagles look to get over .500 next week when they play host to Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. The Giants will move on to visit another struggling team in the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
