Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Lawson Crouse, Alex Galchenyuk, and Josh Archibald all scored for Arizona, who included two empty-net goals late in the third period to seal the victory. Ekman-Larsson's tally was the 108th of his career, which gives him the franchise record for most goals among defenseman. Teppo Numminen held the record until Wednesday.
Darcy Kuemper made 26 saves for the Coyotes, extending his own personal win streak to four in a row. Kuemper is now Arizona's starting goaltender, this after Antti Raanta was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a lower-body injury. Kevin Labanc, Evander Kane, and Logan Couture all scored for the Sharks, with Labanc adding two assists in their second game in two nights. San Jose had topped the Pittsburgh Penguins the night before on their home ice.
The Coyotes will face another playoff contender in the Penguins on Friday night, while the Sharks head east to visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.
