The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Saturday that they have given former No. 1 overall pick Erick Fisher a four-year contract extension. The extension is reportedly worth $48 million, which includes $40 million in guaranteed money. This gives Fisher $63 million left on his six-year deal.
The 25-year-old has started 30 games over the last two seasons. He will remain with the Chiefs through the 2021 season.
The two sides were negotiating this deal for most of the off-season, but there was no word of it until after training camp opened up. Chiefs general manager John Dorsey expressed his joy in the extension, saying calling Fisher the "leader on our offensive line."
