Recently-acquired Bulls guard Michael Carter-Williams will miss four to six weeks after an MRI revealed a bone bruise in his knee, as well as a wrist sprain. The guard went down during Monday's win over the Brooklyn Nets, clutching his knee during the second quarter. The original fear was that the young star suffered a torn ACL.
The MRI was done on Monday, quickly ending that fear, and revealing the extent of the injury. Carter-Williams went down while attempting to block a shot by Sean Kilpatrick. He played in just five minutes of that game.
The Bulls acquired the former Sixers' draft pick from the Milwaukee Bucks during the preseason for Tony Snell. In his first two games with Chicago, Carter-Williams averaged six points, four assists, and 3.5 rebounds.
In his career, the 25-year-old has recorded 14.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in just under 200 games.
