The Milwaukee Bucks have all the expectations in the world to repeat the dominance they had over the Eastern Conference last season, and even more. With Kawhi Leonard moving to the Western Conference away from the Toronto Raptors, they are expected to represent the East in the NBA Finals come June behind the predicted and defending NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Despite all those highs, they will begin the season with a bit of a low, as point guard Eric Bledsoe will miss the beginning of the season due to a rib fracture.
Bledsoe is expected to miss up to three weeks with the injury that was suffered in their 133-129 preseason win over the Utah Jazz over a week ago. The injury was initially diagnosed as a strained oblique, but further testing revealed the actual severity of the injury. Before he suffered the injury in that game he had five points and two assists in just 12 minutes of playing time.
The veteran was a big part of the Bucks' run to the top record in the NBA during the regular season and eventually the Eastern Conference Finals, where they were eliminated by the NBA Champion Raptors. Bledsoe is entering his third season with the Bucks, and is coming off a year that saw him average 15.9 points and 5.5 assists per game. Milwaukee will open their season on Wednesday night against the Houston Rockets.
