The Atlanta Braves have always been fortunate with the managerial position, and they have yet another award-winning one in their dugout. As Spring Training kicks off this week, the NL East favorites extended their head man Brian Snitker on Monday, keeping him with the team through the 2021 season. Sniker's entire coaching staff received similar extensions, as they have played a legitimate role in helping Atlanta contend with their young stars much sooner than expected. They are coming off consecutive Postseason appearances, both of which ended in the NLDS, including a heartbreaking loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 5 at home this past October.
The 64-year-old manager has gone 318-292 as while in this position, as he is entering his fourth season in the dugout, and his 44th season overall with the organization. He won the Manager of the Year Award in 2018 after their stunning Postseason campaign, becoming the first Braves manager to win the award since 2013. The team also gave general manager Alex Anthopoulos a contract extension through the 2024 season. The 42-year-old joined the organization right as their recent success began in 2018.
