QB Blake Sims threw 19/31 for 211 yards and a touchdown pass to Amari Cooper. The Tide's defense also chipped in with 3 interceptions. They also tackled RB Josh Robinson in the end zone in the 1st for a safety and the first 2 points of the game.
T.J. Yeldon ran 16 times for 72 yards with a touchdown run, and caught 8 passes for 88 yards and a score.
Bulldog QB Dak Prescott finished 27/48 for 290 yards, with 2 touchdowns and the 3 interceptions. He also ran the ball 22 times for 82 yards. Robinson finished with 37 yards on 12 carries. Mississippi State outgained Bama 428-335, but could not force any turnovers.
The Bulldogs look to regroup next Saturday when they host Vanderbilt. Alabama will host Western Carolina on Saturday. The new playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday. The Crimson Tide will be in the playoff picture, but it will be interesting to see how far the Bulldogs will drop.
