The controversial NFL career of Adam "Pacman" Jones came to an official end on Friday, as the cornerback announced his retirement after 14 years, but 12 seasons. That number differentiates from when he took two years off to pursue a wrestling career, which did not go far in Impact Wrestling. After an up and down career, Jones stated on Friday that he was "content" with this decision, as he looks forward to more time with his family and kids.
A majority of his career was spent with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he spent eight seasons, after beginning his career with the Tennessee Titans, and he ended his career with the Denver Broncos. The 35-year-old appeared in seven games this past season, making two starts, with one interception, three passes defended, and nine tackles. He also had 10 punt returns and four kickoff returns, but struggled with injuries, which kept him off the field.
Jones is a former 2015 Pro Bowl corner and All-Pro selection in 2014, but injuries were not the only thing that kept him off the field. His troubles with the law played a role in that as well, including arrests in January of 2017, and even as recently as this past February for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and resisting arrest. That lead to multiple suspensions and releases, and an unfortunately tainted football career. Either way, he is on to the next phase of his life, which will be family-oriented, and that may be enough for him to stay out of trouble.
